oh good lord... *slumps over* ok, 1) if there was a law against eating too much sushi, then I don't know it. 2) this copy of "Hero" that I'm watching is RIDICULOUS! I mean, the movie is good, but every once in a while you'll see a human-shaped shadow detache itself from that strip of black at the bottom of the screen and move off to the left or the right. Very often, you'll hear a certain sick member of the audience hacking his lungs out. And it keeps on stopping. That's to say, it's stopped twice already, and that's twice too many. Well, it's probably just fatigue speaking here... I am TIRED!!

Oh, did I mention that I finished Thief of Time, which I only started on last night? Tis quite good, as Terry Pratchett books tend to be. Had Susan in it, and Death, of course, and Death of Rats... and Quoth, the raven, who neither quite caws or croaks.

*blink* Um, since everyone seems to be talking about college letters or at least beginning to receive them, I might as well say something too... yes, let's jump the bandwagon, shall we? I got a letter from Wellesley. Early evaluation. "Likely", out of "Likely", "Possible", and "Unlikely". So, it's almost a sure thing. >__> It's rather comforting to know that I have at least one decent school going for me. That's all I really feel like saying. You can read between the lines if you want.

an excerpt from Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett:

Suppose you'd watched the slow accretion of snow over thousands of years as it was compressed and pushed over into the sea, and you watched an iceberg drift out through the chilly waters, and you got to know its cargo of happy polar bears and seals as they looked forward to a brave new life in the other hemisphere where they say the ice floes are lined with crunchy penguins, and then wham - tragedy loomed in the shape of thousands of tons of unaccountably floating iron and an exciting soundtrack...

Oh my god he's talking about Titanic! XD And then Death of Rats demonstrates to Death how the toast always lands butter side down. Always, by means of a mechanical 'contrivance'.

So, after attempting to read The Witching Hour by Anne Rice, who everyone seems to think is a good author (and I agree), I dropped it in favor of The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett. The Witching Hour was moving too slowly for my liking (and it IS a big book), and I happened to be skipping school, so I picked up some Discworld novels at the library. Ah, the joys of Terry Pratchett, or rather, the stomach-aching laughter he causes with his books. I'm really fond of his footnotes, especially. I notice that the City Watch books (or particularly, Vimes, Carrot, and occasionally the all-powerful Lord Vetinari), don't tend to have many footnotes in it, whereas in the Rincewind novels, there are paragraphs of footnotes practically every other page. I hadn't liked the City Watch books too much before, but now I find them to be quite good. Carrot reminds me of Gourry, for some reason, and Vimes is beyond cool. And Lord Vetinari... O__o everytime I read about him, I have the insane urge to cuddle him.

Hmm... Lord Vetinari plushies...

Horohoro X Ren
Probably the most popular Mankin pairing is the
great coupling that is Horohoro and Tao Ren. An
okay coupling to be.

You and the one you love do not get along well in
public. In fact, you're probably fighting all
the time. But when it all comes down to it, you
really care for each other. You will put your
life on the line for the person you care about,
even if they are a spoiled brat.

Even behind closed doors, perhaps you'll constantly
fight for dominance. If anything happens
between the both of you, you will deny it the
next day, or tell everyone that you were on
top.

There are two things about me that I have been mulling over, but have continuously forgotten to bring up as a subject of discussion.

The first issue has to do with my sports physical exam at school a couple weeks ago. The doctor looked at the parts I filled out, on things like past injuries, hospitalizations, allergies, etc., and looked at me incredulously. Apparently, the fact that I'd never gotten hurt while playing sports, or in fact, doing anything, is something of note. I've never broken a single bone, twisted a single muscle, dislocated a limb, and whatnot. It's not that I wasn't exuberant as a child, or didn't do stupid things like jumping from a high place, or sticking my toes in between the axis of a bicycle wheel, or bang myself in different places by not walking carefully. In fact, the only time when I've ever physically hurt myself was when I was 3 and was jumping up and down on my parents' bed. I fell off, and fractured my shoulder. (*boing* *boing* *boing* *thud* "Waaaahhh") But that was it. My only explanation is that I've always been careful in whatever I do. I don't take unnecessary risks, and even if I do, it's always in something that can't hurt me too badly. When I was younger, my so-called motto was to learn from other people's mistakes, so I didn't have to experience the same downfall. I can't imagine that it was a very good decision to make, albeit unconsciously. I mean, my klutziness does manage to trip me up sometimes, but I'd get out of it without much of any scraps. Luck, then, that I haven't been hurt too seriously. Or maybe, my messed karma just decided that all the bad stuff should be mental and circumstantial, not physical. Bah.

The second issue occured to me when I was walking home yesterday, thinking about how unhappy the movie made me. I thought of going home and immersing myself in a good book, or a manga, and then I realized how much I was addicted to illusions, that everytime something made me unhappy, I would retreat into a different world, one in which reality or unhappiness can touch me unless I choose for it to be. It's not considered healthy, by many. I dunno. There's not much I can say on this now. There's not much I can do about it either, because even if I stopped and faced whatever reality I might have been hiding from, what is there for me to do? Everyone needs a purpose in their life, and I can't find mine by just living.

Also, I've only recently realized how serious the shit that happened in my earlier life is, and it is just now catching up to me and flaunting its ugly selves at me. I used to just shrug it off, but it seems to have more impact on me now. I don't like that. I should have stayed insensitive to such things. When did I stop being jaded? I don't like being bitter, especially towards my own family.

*cackles in amusement* Koyasu Takehito played Mosquiton in Master Mosquiton! Mosquiton the unorthodox vampire, who gets himself staked through the heart at the end of practically every episode and gets brought back to life at the beginning of the next. XD XD XD So silly. But! He did Faust in Shaman King. I am now in awe, despite holding him in disdain for the crap job on Aya in Weiss, and for being Weiss. XD XD And he did Rezo. And Copy Rezo. And Zanaffar who was being channeled through Copy Rezo (or something like it). That's news to me. Heh. And Miki Shinichirou did Lizardon from Pokemon (that's Charizard, I think XD XD). He also did Tsuzuki (!!!!) from Yami no Matsuei, Larva from Vampire Princess Miyu (me like Larva), and Allen and Amano-sempai from Escaflowne. ^^;; he's pretty good... And let it be known now: I dislike Yuuki Hiro. He did a crappy job on Omi-kun, and nothing is going to unconvince me of that. He also did Alfred for Slayers (I knew that floaty womanly man voice sounded familiar!!), and Dende for DBZ. Ugh.

There was a weird thing that I forgot to mention from yesterday. I was in math class, and Ms. B wasn't in the room, and everybody was running around finishing up their problem sets or just relaxing. Sam Petty, David's little brother, wandered over, bent over me, and leaned in. I slid down on my chair a little to avoid him smacking me in the lips, but right when he was about three inches away from me he backed off, and said, "I was going to kiss you, but I didn't." ...... O____o I was pretty out of it, so I didn't realize that's what might have happened if he hadn't moved away, even though I did move so that it wouldn't happen, but it didn't feel like kissing atmosphere. I knew he was just playing around, which was why I moved in the first place. Anyway, it was weird, kinda like when Ian "smelled" my hand, but it wasn't gross, because, well, Sam isn't Ian. To me, Sam is the adorable little brother of David. *shrug*

I went to see Daredevil today. It sucked. I suggest that people don't waste their money on it. When I came home from the movie, I pulled out the Yu Yu Hakusho vcd that Joe lent me. I thought it was the second movie, since the cover was for the second movie, but it was actually the first movie (in which Koenma was kidnapped), and a lot of clips from the Black Arts Tournament story arc. The quality of the vcd was very good, so I was happy. I've never seen YYH past the part Yusuke comes back to life the first time, so it was very nice to see the many clips from the anime. Waaahhh, the voice acting is so nice. *___* I've never seen Youko Kurama in the anime before. Ish very pretty, yesh. And Hiei, uuwaaaahhh... Jaou Ensatsu Kokoryuuha!! XD XD XD XD;;; Kakkoi~~ And Karasu... yes, I know he was one sadistic and sick bastard, but he was pretty cool in the anime too~ And Jin, and Touya~ And young Genkai ish very pretty too~~ *__* There was a short clip of the bunny girl judge trying to get comments from the Urameshi team before they were to fight the Toguro team, and the four were all very moody and serious. Yusuke and Kuwabara said something along the lines of 'we'll beat them'. Hiei materialized a ball of flame and said something about wiping them all out (i don't quite remember everything). And Kurama! XD XD XD!!! Kurama said that she probably shouldn't get too close to him now. Then there were some still picture illustrations... *_____* So nice~ I love how defined Yoshihiro Togashi's drawings are. So very clear. And there was even Sensui and Itsuki too~ Itsuki looked really good. *cough* ANYWAY! There were also seiyuu interviews at the end, for the four main characters. The questions were along the lines of what do you think of your character, what do you like/dislike about your role, and how you think your character would ask someone out on a date? Simple questions. I like Kuwabara's seiyuu, Chiba Shigeru. He reminds me vaguely of Yohji~ But I like Ogata Megumi and Hiyama Nobuyuki~ And their replies to the questions~

Ogata Megumi: Kurama gets hurt. A lot. I'd love to try Hiei's lines. JAOU ENSATSU KOKORYUUHA!!! Oh, that's hard. Now I know what Hiyama has to go through.
Hiyama Nobuyuki: GIVE ME MORE LINES!! Kurama has cool lines. I'd like to have some lines like what Kurama says. It's hard having a character who doesn't speak much. If Hiei ever had to ask anyone out, which is unlikely to happen, he would probably say something like... *pause* you can come if you want to... (actually the way it was said was more meant to mean "I'm going and if you want to tag along it's not really any of my business" ^^;;;;)

*__* Hiyama Nobuyuki did Hikitsu's voice from Fushigi Yugi, and Yushiro Gowa from Gasaraki, and Shiro Amada from GW 08th MS Team. I'd forgotten how much I liked his voice. His songs for Hiei are really nice *__*

Also browsed Maeda Ai's profile on the Seiyuu Database. -_-;; As a voice actress she hasn't done much. But her role in Digimon ensured her a lot of... singing. And after seeing all the roles Okiayu Ryoutarou did, I can understand why he's so appreciated...

Maryam and I went walking earlier, and we ended up at Rasputin's. Rasputin's Used section has one for anime. The anime section had Boogipop Phantom. I am very curious. *is in fact dying to get her grubby hands on it* The anime section also had Gasaraki, Trigun, Escaflowne (movie + anime), Gundam Wing, Ultraman (XD;;;), and some other stuff. Rasputin's also had Vienna Teng's first album, LoTR-TTT OST, Princess Mononoke OST, and Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away) OST. I want. I desperately want. Those, and Boogiepop Phantom. I want very badly. Somebody gimme. Or I'll got get it myself using my next paycheck. Yes, I'll go do that.

A while ago, while editing what I had of "The Second Angel", I shoved everthing into one, named it part 1, and moved onto part 2, changing perspectives as I did so. I think it was because I was sick of using the girl, Sato, as the narrator. She was becoming a mary sue, and it was sickening to me. So, part 2 is Endo, her cousin's perspective, and is more interesting right now. I'll probably use Sato only once or twice more, but no more than that.

I was having a pretty good day until just now. Now, I'm pissed. Everything was just dandy today, except for the tiny fact that I had to skip my afternoon classes to attend a design class that I needed to take to be a better salesman at my job. Aaron Brothers, remember? I would rather go to class than attend the design class, but I had the feeling that if I didn't go, I'd be in danger of losing my job. So I went. It was rumored to be from 1 to 6, but in reality it was only from 1 to 3:30. Instead of going to class after lunch, me n Kevin n Eugene went to the arcade. They played, I watched. It was kinda fun. The Design class wasn't so bad. The test wasn't so bad either. When I discovered how early it was, I rushed home so that I could grab my stuff and go to badminton practice. However, almost right after I got to school, one of the basketball coaches comes in and tells us they have practice today. What makes me really mad is that I'd JUST changed and had to do it all over again. What a waste of my time and energy. I can't believe I ran to school... ARGGHHHHH!!! On the other hand, I now have time to get ready for the Asian Graduation dinner tonight, at which we have to serve. Stupid fundraising. Stupid Asian Grad. Stupid waitress black and white. Stupid everything. Stu-stu-stu-stu- *smack* Stupid brain.

Poem by Stephen Crane
Upon the road of my life,
Passed me many fair creatures,
Clothed all in white, and radiant.
To one, finally, I made speech:
"Who art thou?"
But she, like the others,
Kept cowled her face,
And answered in haste, anxiously,
"I am good deed, forsooth;
You have often seen me."
"Not uncowled," I made reply.
And with rash and strong hand,
Though she resisted,
I drew away the veil
And gazed at the features of vanity.
She, shamefaced, went on;
And after I had mused a time,
I said of myself,
"Fool!"

-another poem
Love walked alone.
The rocks cut her tender feet,
And the brambles tore her fair limbs.
There came a companion to her,
But, alas, he was no help,
For his name was heart's pain.

"Truth," said a traveller,
"Is a rock, a mighty fortress;
Often have I been to it,
Even to its highest tower,
From whence the world looks black."
"Truth," said a traveller,
"Is a breath, a wind,
A shadow, a phantom;
Long have I pursued it,
But never have I touched
The hem of its garment."
And I believed the second traveller;
For truth was to me
A breath, a wind,
A shadow, a phantom,
And never had I touched
The hem of its garment.

"..." they said
~"A women with a mole in the pathway of her tears is destined to have a life full of them." - Kaji, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
~"My painting is visible images which conceal nothing; they evoke mystery and, indeed, when one sees one of my pictures, one asks oneself this simple question 'What does that mean'? It does not mean anything, because mystery means nothing either, it is unknowable." - Rene Magritte
~"Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." - a random quote I got in a chain e-mail.
~"Love is a net woven from all emotions into an intricate web." - Some guy (j/k, it's Albert ^_^)
~"I dreamed that I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?" - Chuang Tsu
~"It is cruel, you know, that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness and of pain: of strength and freedom. The beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature, and everlasting beauty of monotony." - Benjamin Britten
~"His Don Juan Triumphant...seemed to me at first one long, awful, magnificent sob. But, little by little, it expressed every emotion, every suffering of which mankind is capable. It intoxicated me..." - The Phantom of the Opera
~"Evil is the dark-haired brother of Good; they walk hand in hand-always." - Cal (Calanthe), Wraeththu Trilogy
~"Don't worry, I only hit you with the flat of this sword. Oh, I forgot... this is a double-edged sword..." - Zelgadis, Slayers Next
~"I shall be telling this with a sigh. Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." - "The Road Not Taken", Robert Frost
~"Where monsters rampage, I'm there to take them down! Where treasure glitters, I'm there to claim it! Where an enemy rises to face me, victory will be mine!" - Lina Inverse, Slayers
~"The carnival comes and goes, and if you wait long enough, it'll always come back to you." - Ryoko, Tenchi Muyo!
